The island of Grado is connected to the mainland with two bridges. It is located in the gulf of Trieste, a few kilometres from the town of Palmanova and the archaeological site of Aquileia, about 50 Km from the town of Trieste and 40 Km from the town of Udine. Venice is one-and-a-half-hours drive from Grado, following the Adriatic coast going west.
